This past weekend I went on a short 2-day cruise to the Bahamas with my boyfriend. It was a spur of the moment trip, but we found a great two for one deal. We got to spend one day in the Grand Bahama Island and went scuba diving. We both got certified years ago. I became scuba certified at age 14, because I was fascinated with marine life and already loved the ocean. He became certified when he was 17. Our recent dive, and first dive together was amazing. Dozens of sharks were circling us. Below is a photo I took from underneath a shark. This shark was only about three feet long, but the biggest we saw was about five feet. Both of us were not scared at all, we were warned before the dive that these sharks can be compared to puppies. However, puppies usually bite. Luckily, these baby sharks were just as nosy and curious as puppies and, they were just as cute too. I definitely have always had a passion for marine life, but being able to experience it up close and underwater is a whole different thrill. I can easily say that I'm hooked and excited to begin planning my next underwater excursion.
